Lura
Ahearn
Lura is the manager for the health improvement department
for PacificCare/Secure Horizons, one of the nation's
largest Medicare HMO's. She is a delegate council member
of the Health Promotion Institute, a constitute unit
of the National Council on Aging. She has worked in
the fitness industry with the senior population. Her
education includes a degree in Physical Education and
a Masters in Business Administration.

Pat
Browne
Pat is an Account Executive for the National Retiree
Services at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. She
coordinates activites and program expansion for the
BCBS/National Council of Senior Citizens partnership.
She also conducts presentations on vital senior health
issues to BCBS members. She has over twenty-five years
experience in the healthcare and marketing fields.

Teresa is the Director of the National Association
of Senior Friends. This association is a national membership
organization which promotes healthy living for adults
age 50 and over, employed and retired, through education,
social events, and fitness/nutrition programs. There
are more than 300,000 Senior Friends members at over
200 chapters sponsored by hospitals across the country.

Knopf, Ed.D.
Karl
is the founder and executive director of Fitness
Educators of Older Adults, a professional organization
that provides workshops which are approved for Senior
Fitness Association continuing education credit. He
is a professor of adaptive physical education, and lectures
and teaches activity-based courses that address physical
fitness programming for older adults. He is the author
of three exercise books and numerous published articles
including a column in the Senior Fitness Bulletin of
the American Senior fitness association. He has been
a speaker at many conferences including the American
Society on Aging and the Aquatic Exercise Association.

Jan
Montague, M.G.S.
Jan has been involved in wellness and health promotion
for over 20 years. She has operated Fitnique Physical
Fitness Systems, Inc., consisting of four full-time
facilities, ten corporate locations, and over thirty
community sites, since 1976. Her Master of Gerontological
Studies degree focused on wellness program design for
older adults. She serves on the Advisory Board for the
Keiser Institute on Aging, Cincinnati State College's
Health Technologies Division, Greater Cincinnati Joint
Council on Geriatric Care; and co-chairs the American
Society on Aging's health promotion and wellness committee.
Her lifelong work in wellness and health promotion has
resulted in the development of nationwide consulting
services, for the design, development, and implementation
of wellness centers and programs for the older adult
market.

is the former program director for the President's Council
on Physical Fitness and Sports. He has been involved
in various national programs including, the Health American
Fitness Leader program, the Presidential Sports Award
program, National Physical Fitness and Sports Month.

Cindy
Porteous
Cindy, the executive director of the National Association
for Health and Fitness (NAHF), is a senior level, certified
fund raising executive with over 20 years experience
in not-for-profit management and fund development fields.
She has worked with not-for-profit organizations whose
primary goals are to enhance quality of life and promote
healthy lifestyles. She represents NAHF at the Centers
for Disease Control in helping to develop policies such
as the Youth Activities Guidelines for Physical Activity,
AIM 2010 and the March Into May campaign and is a board
member with the National Coalition for Promoting Physical
Activity.

he has a blend of expertise which spans 25 years of
